Volkswagen launched its Indian automobile, Volkswagen Polo a few years back. The Volkswagen Polo was a huge hit as far as the Indian automobile industry is concerned. Launching a new update of the classic Indian modal, Polo the new generation Volkswagen Polo facelift is all set to be launched into the markets by 2019 followed by its further updates in 2020. The facelift consist of a new 1.0 litre TSI engine (localized engine). Volkswagen Polo get a facelift in the year 2014 which had very minor amendments. This was released globally and was expected at a huge scale in Indian markets as well.

Earlier, the sources reported that the new facelift variant of Polo may consist of a new features resembling to the Volkswagen Golf and was expected to be enter to the Indian market by 2020. Yet, on further confirmations, the reports suggests that this model will be introduced earlier than expected i.e. in 2019 with a different and unique petrol engine.

Last year, in Germany the Volkswagen launched their latest update of Volkswagen Polo i.e. the next-generation-Polo. Thus exhibiting a huge sales of this new-generation Volkswagen Polo on International automobile markets where as Indian markets still have the fifth-generation Polo running in their markets. The advancement of BS-6 engine and a deeper check at safety rule book (just strictly according to Indian roads and routes) are the possible reasons for delay of the new-generation in Indian markets.

Although, the brand has not revealed the specifications in exact figures yet, the next generation Polo facelift is expected to have new 1.0 litre TSI engine which currently is 1.0 litre MPI engine. Its hot version Polo GT uses a 1.2 litre TSI engine. The 1.0 litre TSI engine is expected to produce approx. power of 90 BHP and a peak torque of 150 Nm on the other hand, the MPI engine generates 75 BHP power and 95 Nm of peak torque. The Volkswagen Polo and Polo GTI can be distinguished with upcoming facelift as both the models have a huge difference line. The differentiation parameters of both the mode include distinguished spoiler, wraparound for ORVMs, front grille, the basic specifications of engine are varied in both models. Polo GT uses biger capacity engine and comes with a 7-speed DSG transmission as inbuilt fitment.

Polo GT works on a 1.5 litre TDI diesel engine, provided in regular models as well. It is pre-equipped with standard 5-speed manual gear box. The new Polo GT will promise an updated version of front grille, distinctive silhouette, new set of alloy wheels, side skirts and eye-latching LED lighting. Whereas the specifications of engine and other mechanism remains untouched. Additional features provided by Volkswagen Polo GT are top of line characteristics such as cruise control, dual beam halogen head lamps. Safety measures such as ESP, ABS, hill-hold control and dual front airbags are some further reasons that the car is listed as the safest hatchbacks in India by NCAP crash tests.
